The number of physical phenomena modeled by partial differential equations
Involving non-linear integral terms is constantly increasing. These terns may
appear in the boundary conditions or in the governing equation itself. In the
present research the integral term appears in the boundary conditions. Finite
difference schemes will be used to solve the three- dimensional time-dependent
diffusion equation with a non-local boundary specification. In these methods
locally one dimensional procedures will be used to extend the one-dimensional
techniques to solve the given three-dimensional problem. Numerical integration
procedures will be employed to overcome the non-local boundary specification.
Results from a numerical experiment will be presented, including error estimates
derived in the maximum norm. Key Word: Three- Dimensional Diffusion Equation, Explicit Schemes, Locally One Dimensional Methods, Non-local Conditions-Numerical Integration Techniques, Time Splitting Procedures |
