Operator Algebras and their Applications
School of Mathematics, IPM

The theory of operator algebras has undergone very significant developments and led to new points of view in various areas of mathematics. Noncommutative geometry and free probability are instances of these developments. The purpose of this informal seminar is to familiarize interested mathematicians and physicists with this subject. There is no prior constraint on the topics as long as they are related to operator algebras and their applications.
The first organizational meeting will take place on the 18th of Bahman 1385 (February 7, 2007) at IPM (Niavaran). All interested parties are encouraged to participate and suggest topics for forthcoming lectures.

Organizers
  • Massoud Amini (Tarbiat Modares University)
  • Mehrdad Shahshahani (IPM)
