RPC Upgrade Phase-II, New RPC Link Board System and Back-end electronics(part I)
PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS
During the HL-LHC operation, the expected conditions in terms of background and pile-up and the probable aging of the present detectors will make the muon identification and correct pT assignment a challenge for the muon system. In order to ensure redundancy of the muon system also under the HL-LHC conditions, the present RPC system has to be improved. The RPC Data taking system and specially Link board system is one of the most important part of this improvement. After Muon hits, the data from the RPC chambers and their front-end boards are sent to trigger and readout via a link board system.
