ASTRONOMY

The nature of dark matter (DM) and its interactions is one of the most important questions in cosmology and particle physics. In spite of the fact that there is a wealth of cosmological evidence for existing dark matter, from galactic clusters and velocity curves of spinning galaxies to gravitational lensing, its particle properties have remained elusive. On the other hand, studies conducted in recent years show that the interaction between CMB and matter can convert or generate the polarization states of the photon in different situations. We would like to consider different sector for DM and investigate the effect of CMB-DM interaction on C ...

Quantum transport in graphene-based nanoelectronic devices

Shrinking down the size of semiconductor devices has reached the nanometer
scales where unconventional current characteristics arise. We have modeled two
and three terminal devices on graphene nanoribbons using NEGF formalism.
Charge and spin currents have peculiar characteristics, such as having negative
transconductance, rectified current for AC bias, negative differential conductance etc. These are quantum effects in the nanoscale devices.

IPM-PF Pulsed Plasma Accelerator and Radiation Source

PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS

Plasma focus is a high gradient accelerator, efficiently generates intense high energy ion and electron beams, X-rays, and EUV. These intrinsic radiations, sets it apart from other devices as a prime candidate for various applications. IPM-PF is a low energy dense magnetized plasma and radiation source at the CERN lab, school of particles and accelerators.
