  Abstract:
In this paper a novel metallic slit-groove nanostructure is proposed for long range unidirectional transmission of light from a subwavelength slit. This nanostructure utilizes a metallic slit-groove nanostructure coupled with a hybrid Plasmon waveguide to travel the surface plasmon polariton (SPP) beam with a high intensity in long travel distances. The new design takes advantage of both unidirectional excitation of SPP mode in metallic slit-groove nanostructures and highly confined mode in hybrid plasmonic waveguides. The coupling strength between metallic gratings with hybrid plasmonic waveguide is dominated by the geometric parameters of the nanostructure. The simulation results show that our proposed structure has higher mode intensity and longer propagation length compared to that of conventional metallic slit-groove nanostructure.
