First Summer School on Theoretical Aspects of Computer Science

The Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM) is organizing a summer school on Theoretical Aspects of Computer Science from 3 to 10 of July 2000.

 
 The Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM) is organizing a summer school on Theoretical Aspects of Computer Science from 3 to 10 of July 2000.

The aim of the summer school is to give an up-to-date account of current research and recent results in some areas of Theoretical Computer Science. The invited lectures of the summer school will cover the following topics: -Approximation algorithms
-Computational geometry
-Computer Networks and Combinatorics
-Data and object modeling
-Graph embedding problems
-Quantum computation
-Testing theory

There is no registration fee for participation in the school. Because of scarcity of funds, the Institute generally does not cover the expenses of the participants, although local accommodation may be granted in few exceptional cases.
The deadline for the application is 30 May 2000.
